“Crawford and Corry provided me with an incredibly valuable work experience placement in Hanoi, whilst fully supporting me from the moment I arrived in Vietnam to the moment I left.
During my time in the city, I worked on real projects alongside finance professionals, giving me genuine insight into how financial decisions are made in practice. My favourite part of the programme was being trusted to develop and add to the projects too by my colleagues. I also found the networking opportunities particularly rewarding, as meeting experienced professionals and learning about their career journeys greatly improved my understanding of the finance industry. The experience helped significantly strengthen my interest in finance and economics, while also helping me develop essential skills such as professional communication, and, more broadly speaking, my maturity and independence.
In addition, I undertook the Global Banking and Markets Masterclass prior to the work experience. I found this very beneficial because it helped me not only with parts of my Economics A Level course at school, but also bridged the gap between economics and a career in finance. I found the sessions on financial crises very interesting to learn about for the first time, as well as the sessions on networking and CV work extremely useful.
